Little dogs can sometimes get hyperactive if they don’t get enough exercise, especially if they spend a lot of time indoors. Many people that have small dogs think that they don’t need to exercise them as much. According to the Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan, “The metabolism of a small dog is often faster, so they actually need more physical activity during their day to keep them calm and balanced”. For many pet owners it can be a challenge to find the time to walk a pet in the first place, and having the added responsibility of cleaning up after your little darling can definitely take some of the joy out of your time together.

Some pet owners even use those puppy pads that are meant for house training as a type of “litter box” for their little dogs instead of taking them for a walk. Yuck!
